ART HISTORY FINAL SAMPLE PROJECT

Art History Final
Art History and Appreciation
This is a project that I received an A grade, along with high praise from my professor. The purpose of the project was to find one piece of work at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk to write about. The requirements were to discus what type of art the piece is, discuss briefly the history of that type of art, and a personal reflection of the art using the concepts learned throughout the course.

29TH STREET COMMUNITY GARDEN CLEANUP

For the Foundations of Public Service (PAS 300) course at Old Dominion University we were required to participate in a service learning activity. To apply this course to the Honors College it was necessary for me to do at least 12 service hours, a paper summarizing my experience, and a PowerPoint about my project. Instead of just doing 5 hours of community service, I took on the coordination of a project and completed over 20 hours. On November 18, 2017 I successfully coordinated the volunteer event with help of the volunteer director of Eco Cycling, a Norfolk, VA, nonprofit.

HOW CLIMATE CHANGE HAS EFFECTED THE UNITED STATES

For the IDS 300W course we conducted a literature on the topic of our choice. This paper is an interdisciplinary examination of the effect of climate change on the United States through the perspectives of sociology, economics, and environmental science.

EFFECTS OF FAST FASHION ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Through the Environmental Science 122 course at Old Dominion University, I explored the environmental issues associated with the fast fashion industry. This brief essay discusses the issues surrounding fast fashion, a brief history of fashion and consumerism, as well as a personal reflection on the issue.
